However, it is possible to buy your tickets on the train if you want to board at a boarding point without a ticket office. Petite-Rivière-Saint-François
Petite-Rivière-Saint-François (PRSF) is the cradle of the colonization of Charlevoix. The seigneury of Beaupré, which extended from the limits of Beauport to the Rivière du Gouffre, was granted to the Compagnie des Cent-Associés in 1636. In 1662, the Séminaire de Québec acquired it. The land being all occupied, on the Côte de Beaupré, the inhabitants demanded new concessions. The seigneurs then agreed to open to settlement the strip of land of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François. Until the middle of the 20th century, families ensured local economic dynamics by exploiting the resources available to them. Cities specialize according to the seasons, proximity and quality of available resources. In the summer, agricultural activities dominate the plain. In the fall, eel fishing takes place. In the winter, wood is cut, and in the spring, maple trees are cut for syrup production.
