Passengers are each permitted one piece of carry-on luggage not exceeding 20 X 38 X 38 cm (8 X 15 X15 in) and to a maximum weight of 11 lb (3 kg); carry-on luggage must be stowed in the designated area.
Suitcases are all subject to a $ 5.00/bag handling fee (plus taxes) and must not exceed 23 X 40 X 55 cm (9 X 15.5 X 21.5 in) or the maximum permissible weight of 33 lb (15 kg). Please note suitcases are stowed off limits during the rail trip. Baggage handling fees can be paid in advance at time of booking. When you arrive at the station, simply show the agent your train ticket to collect your luggage tag(s). If your baggage handling fees are not pre-paid, please go to the railway ticket office to pay your fee(s) and collect your luggage tag(s). Take your luggage to the boarding area. Our crew will take charge of it until your final destination. Note that only bags with a luggage tag will be loaded on board the train.
Out of courtesy and to thank new moms for nurturing our next generation clientele, strollers are stored free of charge in the baggage compartment. When you arrive at the station, please present yourself to a ticket agent with your train ticket to collect your luggage tag. Children under three (3) must travel free on their parent’s lap and do not have a reserved seat. They may use an empty seat within their parent’s eyesight but must be prepared to vacate the seat on request. Guaranteed seating for a child under three is obtained by purchasing Category 3‒17 yrs fare.
Golf bags are considered as baggage and as such are subject to the same $5.00 bag handling fee, plus taxes. When booking online, please pay this fee in addition to regular luggage fee(s). Golf bags must be equipped with a travel cover and be free of dangling objects. Please present yourself to the ticket counter to collect your luggage tag and/or pay your bag handling fee, if necessary.
Train de Charlevoix is equipped with five (5) bicycle hooks. Please be sure to book a hook with our call centre operator, at the cost of $5.00 plus taxes. Do note that for security purposes, bicycles cannot be stowed inside the railcars. Hooks are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
